Upington Country Lodge

Upington’s Country Lodge offers luxurious self-catering and bed and breakfast accommodation, but that doesn’t mean that a visit here will gobble up your entire holiday budget. You have everything you need to prepare your own meals (a fully equipped kitchen with microwave and cutlery as well as braai facilities), but you can arrange for breakfast or a delicious traditional dinner by prior arrangement.

Country Lodge comprises 5 luxury free-standing self-catering chalets. Each chalet is en suite (with shower) and is equipped with air-conditioning and DSTV.  The Country Lodge offers a sparkling swimming pool – just the thing to escape to in Upington’s summer heat. The Country Lodge is close to Upington’s shops and restaurant, but the area is quiet and peaceful. On route to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, the Augrabies Waterfall National Park, as well as Namibia, the Country Lodge is a perfect stop-over.  If you are a keen hunter, the Country Lodge has meat processing services, so the results of your trip will not go to waste.

The Country Lodge also offers camping facilities here in Upington. If you decide to stay a few days and explore Upington’s Green Kalahari surroundings, The Country Lodge offers bird watching opportunites, game drives, Kalahari-camp excursions, trips to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and Augrabies National Park Trips, as well as quad bike trips.

The Green Kalahari, or Southern Kalahari, is characterised by the Orange River running through the area. The earliest inhabitants were the San, and rock engravings left by them can still be seen in the area. This is yet another good reason to visit Upington, and while there, why not book at the Country Lodge?

Please remind them to include Mazambala Island Lodge along the Kwando River and Sossusvlei Desert Camp near Sesriem at the entrance to the Sossusvlei park.  Desert Camp is within a days drive from Upington country Lodge

Upington Country Lodge strongly recommends Chobe Safari Lodge near Chobe Game reserve and Kasane in Botswana. 

ZIMABAWE

Although not to many people use Upington Country lodge as a stopover on route to Zimbabwe we recommends lodges such as Kulizwe Lodge in Binga along the southern shores of Lake Kariba. Their self-catering ( self contained ) accommodationare very simmilar to Upington country lodge. Fothergill Island is a luxurious lodge on an island in Lake Kariba and the The Jameson Hotel in the CBD of Harare.  The Jameson Hotel is a luxury but affordable hotel, Nearer to Upington and in the south of Zimbabwe is the Lodge at the Ancient City ia luxury lodge near the Great Zimbabwe Monument. In Victoria Falls Upington Country Lodge is proudly associated with A'Zambezi River lodge the only hotel on the banks of the Zambezi River a few km upstream from Victoria Falls
